Welcome Students!

I am Mrs. Istre, your 7th or 8th Grade ELA teacher this year.  This is my first year in Tomball ISD, and I am so thrilled to be part of the Tomball learning community. I began my career in Alief ISD where I taught ELA for nine years. Last year, I began subbing in Tomball only to find out how much I loved this community and school.  In fact, some of you might have remembered seeing me walk the hallways.

It is my mission for you to become better decision-makers in the real world as well as in the classroom. I want you to feel the freedom to create, think, explore and discover new possibilities in a safe environment. It is my hope that after being in my class this year, you will take responsibility for your own learning and carry that sense of ownership with you to the next level.

Parents, please check out my course syllabus for more information about student expectations, grading policy and more. Should you need to contact me via phone or in person, my conference period is listed below.

Conference Period:  3rd Period / 9:10-9:55
I would like to encourage all parents and students to subscribe to my webpage as I will be sharing information regarding important updates and reminders about tests, portfolio pieces and project deadlines. Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions or concerns.
Let's have an awesome year!
Mrs. Istre
