2020-2021 marks the 21st year of teaching middle school band for Cathy Breeden. She holds a Bachelors from Angelo State University and is currently working towards receiving her Masters from Sam Houston State University. She graduated with Honors from Littlefield High School located in Littlefield, TX. Her influences are Bonnie Anderson, Harris Brinson, and many directors from Region IX. A member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas bandmasters Association, and Women Band Directors International, Mrs. Breeden lives with her husband, Ray, and their three sons.
The Tomball Junior High Band Program
Among the fine arts programs in Tomball ISD, the Tomball Junior High Band cluster is comprised of just under 200 students in grades 6-8 at Tomball JHS and its feeder, Tomball IS. Members begin their band experience in the 6th grade where they are divided into like-instrument classes.
Seventh and eighth grade members participate in one of the performing bands at Tomball JHS. Each band performs in several concerts throughout the year. The Honor and Symphonic Bands participate in UIL competition and at least one other major contest or festival.
