About Joan "Gabby" Delgado
Gabby Delgado is a graduate of Texas A&M University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2005. She decided to directly pursue her secondary degree, and received her Master of Education in School Counseling in 2007 from Sam Houston State University. Gabby has been in education for the past 12 years, starting off with her very first teaching position at Labay Middle School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD as a 7th grade Texas History teacher. From there, she moved to 8th grade Science at Labay and 8th grade U.S. History at Watkins Middle School. In the fall of 2015, Gabby stepped into the role of counselor at Watkins in order to better help and support her students' academic, social, and emotional needs. During this time, Gabby built strong partnerships with parents, teachers, and community members as she followed her students from grades six through eight. Gabby believes that student success comes from building strong healthy relationships to help them understand that they are important, loved, and are capable of achieving their goals. Her current Texas educator certifications include English, Language Arts, Reading (4-8), English, Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies (4-8), Generalist (4-8), History (8-12), and School Counselor (EC-12). In the summer of 2018, Gabby joined the counseling staff of Tomball Junior High School. She looks forward to meeting her new students and having a wonderful school year.
